Vamos a Spain y Portugal! September 3, 2007

Hello all,

Well, we are off to Europe again. This time we are only going for 2 weeks (4th-20th) and only to 2 countries, it might be a little less crazy, but who knows, it is us after all. We are going to Spain and Portgual and while there will be going to Barcelona, Madrid, Cadiz-where we will be meeting our friend Erin who is studying abroad there, Sevilla and then to Southern Portugal which is a resort beach area and then up to Lisbon. It is a lot of cities for two weeks so wish us luck!!

This time we aren't us stupid and are doing things a bit differently. First and most importantly, we are NOT bring suitcases, but backpacks, after my broken luggage last year there was NO WAY I was going to attempt that again.

We left our food at home this time. Contrary to what we thought, there IS FOOD over in Europe that we can BUY. So we left the tuna, chili, macaroni and cheese, flat fruit and all the other crap we brought with us last year at home. We still are brining corn nuts though, what can I say, some habits die hard..

Speaking of food, I am now a vegetarian so the whole relying on eating McDonalds everyday like we did last year might become quite difficult as McDonalds has only one item I can eat. Maybe I should have brought all the food....haha

We are also staying in hostels actually IN the center of the city so we wont have to take buses, trains, pods, subways etc... to actually get to the city, we will be in the middle of it, so hopefully that will save us from wandering aimlessly looking for our hostels like we did last year much of the time in every new city, but again who knows! We are even staying in a hotel for one of the nights, which will be a nice break from sharing rooms and bathrooms with others ( :

Instead of trains, we are flying to to and from a lot of our cities which will be great, because sometimes the trains sucked and are sometimes filled with crazies.

I am also not in a cast, which is awesome. Lets cross our fingers that I dont fall in a ditch again and resprain my ankle. I did bring an ankle brace just in case...

Kristina and I are on different flights, arriving 10 hours apart, so that will be interesting...hopefully we both can find eachother and do not die of boredom while on the 15 hours or so of flying!!!!

Kristina also has a super short layover in London, so lets cross our fingers that she can scurry quickly through the airport to get on her next flight and through customs quickly!!! If she misses her connecting flight, she says shes taking the chunnel and going to Paris, so it will be a lonely trip for me if she misses her flight, haha.

I have to be up at around 3:30 am and Mike is the lucky winner who gets to drive me to the airport, it almost 10:30 pm, so needless to say, sleep is not something I will be getting a lot of. Which will make for an interesting morning, because I am supposed to be taking a practice LSAT test for 3 hours while on the plane and I am actually supposed to use my brain, which might not function too well on little or no sleep.

Well, we are off on another crazy adventure. Hopefully it will be as entertaining for all of you as it is for us. Thank you to all of you who donated garage sale stuff to another one of our many crazy garage sales this summer to help finance this trip--we REALLY appreciate it!

Wish us luck, I am sure we will need it. We're pretty much just winging it, so we shall see how it goes...

Look for more e-mails to come to you throughout the trip!!!

Public Service Announcement: This is the e-mail list from last year, if you no longer wish to receive these emails chronocoling our crazy adventures, just let me know. Also, if you know someone else who would like them, lemme know!

Vamos a Espana!!

Love,

K & K
